Three hurt when chase ends with crash in south Wichita

Three people were injured after a high speed chase ended with a crash in south Wichita.

A Sedgwick County deputy began chasing a car around noon Saturday near Pawnee and Seneca.  There was a report that the car had a stolen license plate.   The car ran a stop sign at Irving and Meridian and hit another vehicle, then it flipped over and struck a house and caught fire.

The 47-year-old man who was driving the suspect vehicle was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.  A 58-year-old man who was a passenger in the car and a 25-year-old woman who was driving the second vehicle had serious injuries.   All three are from Wichita.

No one in the home was hurt, and the deputy involved in the chase was not injured.

The Kansas Highway Patrol is helping with the investigation.
