KDHE Rescinds Boil Water Advisory for Most Remaining Areas, Still in Effect for Sedgwick RWD #2

Around 1:10 a.m. Saturday morning, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment rescinded the Boil Water Advisory for the City of Wichita.

The advisory was issued because of a loss of pressure in the distribution system after a brief power outage, causing a major water main to break near I-135 ad 17th Street North on Thursday.

The cancellation of the Boil Water Advisory applies to any customer that receives a water bill from the City of Wichita, including customers in the cities of Andover, Eastborough, and Maize.

The advisories for Bel Aire, Benton, Rose Hill, Derby, Kechi, Valley Center, and McConnell Air Force Base have also been lifted.

The boil water advisory remains in place for wholesale customers of the City of Wichita: Sedgwick County Rural Water District #2.
