Evergy said in a press release that power has been restored to more than 90 percent of the customers who had lost power during Wednesday’s windstorm. The storms caused an estimated 258,000 power outages across Kansas and Missouri, but the company says that those outage numbers had been reduced to about 31,000 customers by 3 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
Crews from Ameren, Liberties Utilities and City of Springfield have joined Evergy crews and contractors to make repairs and restore power, as the damage from the storm was widespread.
The company said that crews will continue to work around the clock until power to all customers is restored.
