Police have arrested a 40-year-old Wichita man in connection with two recent sexual assaults.
Police were called to the 1000 block of North Topeka around 12:30 a.m. on December 31st, and they found a 54-year-old woman who reported being beaten and sexually assaulted. She said she met the attacker earlier in the day after asking him for a ride.
On January 22nd around 8 p.m., officers went to the area of 13th and Ohio for an assault report, and they found a 63-year-old woman who said she had been beaten and sexually assaulted by a man after getting a ride from him.
Investigators identified a suspect and then found him in the 1000 block of East MacArthur on Thursday. He was booked on charges of rape, aggravated assault, criminal threat, battery and a warrant for a probation violation. Information will be presented to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office for the filing of charges.
