Wichita man arrested after Missouri plane crash

A Wichita man was arrested after a plane crash in southwest Missouri.

The pilot was attempting to land on a private runway Tuesday night in Stone County, Missouri, but it crashed in a wooded area.  Investigators said he tried to land the plane with a tailwind, and then tried to make a u-turn to land with a headwind, but the plane went into a stall.   The pilot and a passenger had minor injuries.

The Missouri Highway Patrol said the 44-year-old pilot failed a breathalyzer test, and he was booked into the Stone County jail.

Federal investigators are looking into the crash.
