A teacher from the Douglass School District has been arrested after an investigation into child sex crimes. Augusta police made the arrest Monday.
Police said no students from Douglass were identified as victims in the case, and a letter sent by Douglass school officials to parents said that the alleged crimes did not take place in the district and did not involve students or other staff. The district said the case involves a student from another school district. The teacher has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the investigation.
The name of the teacher has not been released.
