An unidentified worker was killed in an accident Thursday at the construction site for a new water treatment facility in northwest Wichita.
The Wichita Water Partners group said the accident happened around 9:30 a.m., but no details were released. The accident involved an employee of a subcontractor working on the plant. Safety personnel provided medical treatment and then the worker was taken to a hospital.
The Water Partners said it will be working closely with investigators who are looking into the accident.
The plant near 21st and Hoover Road is expected to be substantially completed in the fall of 2024.
