The Oklahoma Forestry Service reports a wildfire in the northwest part of the state is 40 percent contained.  The fire broke out Thursday near Fort Supply, Oklahoma, and some residents were evacuated but they were later allowed to return home.

Wildfires were reported in Harper, Woodward and Beaver counties in Oklahoma, and one fire spread into southwest Kansas, into Clark County.   Crews from Ford and Kiowa counties in Kansas were called to battle the fire, along with units from Dodge City, Minneola, Ashland and Fowler, operating as the Southwest Kansas Wildland Task Force.

There was no word on any damage to homes or structures.
