A Sedgwick County judge has sentenced a Wichita man to over 19 years in prison for repeated attacks on the same woman.   35-year-old Will Johnson has been sentenced to 232 months in prison on a number of charges.

There were four consolidated cases involving the same victim.  Prosecutors said the most serious attack was on August 29th, 2019 when officers were called to Wesley Medical Center.  They found a 29-year-old woman who had been beaten, strangled and stabbed.  She had a broken jaw and a number of cuts to her body.   Johnson told police the woman was attacked by someone along railroad tracks while she was walking to his house, but officers found blood throughout his house.  They also found two surveillance cameras with video showing his attack on the victim.

Johnson entered a guilty plea in March to attempted first degree murder, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, robbery and other charges.

District Judge Bruce Brown also ordered $537 in restitution to help offset the victim’s medical bills.
