Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors Retired Army Capt. Kyle Butters. Last week Kyle went for a run with a flag. Not just any old run, it was a 44-mile run. And not just any old flag, Kyle says the American flag he carries has been everywhere from Afghanistan, to Kuwait to Turkey. Kyle recognizes how important this flag is and the freedom and sacrifice it represents. Kyle was medically retired from the Army due to mental health issues and he says he’s lost soldiers to suicide, so running the 44 miles was very important to him. For this run he’s raised over $12,000 so far for the Infinite Hero Organization. Next year he hopes to do more, something that can spread to other states.
