Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors Army and Green Beret Veteran Michael Bennett.  Michael was born in 1951 to a Japanese mother and an American father who served in World War II.  Ultimately, after being forced to move to the U.S. from Japan, his mother gave him up for adoption.  Michael grew up knowing this part of the story and eventually joined the Army to serve his country like his dad. As time went by, Michael took a DNA test and that’s when the surprises started and before he knew it he discovered he had 7 siblings, children of his father’s that were his brothers and sisters.  Now, Michael gets to be a big brother and he couldn’t be happier.  Congratulations on your new found family Michael and THANK YOU for your service.
