Wichita police are investigating several weekend shootings.

Aside from the two fatal shootings, at least six others were reported between Friday and Sunday night. Several people were hurt in these shootings and investigators are asking for any information on the following cases. Anyone who knows more can call police directly at 268-4407. Tips can also be called in to Crime Stoppers at 267-2111. The individual cases are outlined below.

Close to 11:30 p.m., on Friday, May 27th, officers heard several gunshots close to Planeview Park, near 31st S. and Oliver. Evidence of gunfire was found, though no victims or suspects were located.

Around 8 p.m. Sunday officers were called to Wesley Hospital for a 23-year-old man who arrived with multiple gunshot wounds. Injuries were described as serious but not life-threatening. The man reported being shot several times at 9th and Grove, but a scene was not found.

At 8:30 Sunday evening, police were called for a fight at the QuikTrip at Harry and Oliver. Officers contacted the 43-year-old woman who reported anther woman shot her car while she was pumping gas.  The suspect fled in a dark-colored SUV and is described as a heavy black female. The woman pumping gas was not hurt.

Around 9:30 p.m. Sunday, police were called to a report of gunshots at a home near Pawnee and Meridian. A home in the area was hit, and although several people were inside, nobody was hurt. There is no information on a possible suspect.

Also around 9:30 p.m. Sunday, police were called to a shooting in the 900 block of North Volutsia, close to 9th and Grove. Officers found a 27-year-old male with several gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive. Police say the 27-year-old was in a home with a couple other people, when someone shot into the home. The suspect fled the scene in a dark SUV.

A drive-by was reported 10:54 Sunday night, near Central and Oliver. Several witnesses reported hearing gunshots in the area and officers found a scene in the 500 block of North Dellrose. Nobody was hurt and there is no information on a suspect.
