A Wichita man is charged with first degree murder for a fatal shooting that happened during the Memorial Day weekend.
27-year-old Roger Gale, Jr is also charged with aggravated assault. He appeared in court Thursday to hear the charges and his bond was set at $250,000. His next court appearance was scheduled for June 13th.
Police arrested Gale on May 28th after a fatal shooting outside an apartment complex near Harry and Oliver. Investigators said Gale had been walking his dog and he got into an argument with 30-year-old Emmanuel Hardy. Police said shots were fired at Hardy and at a 39-year-old woman, and Hardy was hit several times. He died later at a hospital.
The shooting has been under investigation as a possible hate crime.
