Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors Vietnam Veteran Henry Alvarado. Four years ago, living conditions inside his San Antonio home had become unlivable, forcing Alvarado out of the space and into his backyard shed. The group Adopt-a-Vet acted and helped. The went into Henry’s home that had everything out of code and took everything out down to the studs and after 2 years of work, the entire home is completely restored from top to bottom. It features a new dining room, which was specifically requested by the family and is ADA compliant in the event Henry would ever need a wheel chair. Overwhelmed, Henry simply said, “I can’t believe it”. Enjoy your new home Henry and THANK YOU for your service.
