The Kansas Department of Corrections reports an inmate who walked away from Lansing has been caught in Kansas City, Kansas.
Michael Stroede was a minimum security inmate, and walked away from Lansing on August 30. After he was found to be missing, area schools were put on lockout as a precaution.
Stroede was arrested this morning without incident.
Corrections officials say they’re still investigating the situation leading to Stroede’s escape.
