Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors Army Veteran Evan Benton, his wife Katie and Operation Heal Our Patriots.  Evan joined the Army in 2010 and deployed to Afghanistan in 2011 where he helped clear roadways of IEDs.  After the military, chronic pain and PTSD turned him into a totally different person according to his wife Katie and thier marriage suffered because of it.  Rather than give up they found Operation Heal Our Patriots, thanks to his Mom who insisted he look into and he’s glad he did.  “Operation Heal Our Patriots is a way to start fresh and make healthy progress to rebuild your marriage,” Evan said. “It’s the safest place where you can let your guard down and be vulnerable.” 13-weeks at the lodge in Alaska was life changing and now Evan advocates for them in efforts to help other Veteran couples and families.  Congratulations on finding what you needed Evan and THANK YOU for your service.
