Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors Wichita Native Lt. Cmdr. Aaron Werhan.  Aaron is in the Navy, stationed in Norfolk, VA., assigned to Strike Fighter Squadron 106 in support of the F/A-18 Super Hornet.  Aaron has been in the Navy for 14 years, saying he joined after seeing a Blue Angels air show at the age of 19. A 2006 graduate of Trinity Academy, Aaron boasts of the support of his parents and his wife and is grateful for their sacrifices that allow him to do what he loves.  He is also grateful for his midwest upbringing saying values like care, that he learned while growing up in Wichita, are important in leadership roles. Applying those values has helped him complete missions. Aaron says, “Serving means I get to be a part of something bigger that helps keep America safe.” Thank you for making us Wichita Proud Aaron and THANK YOU for your service.
