The town hall is planned for Thursday, September 15th at 6 p.m. at the Madison Avenue Clubhouse at 1005 North Madison Avenue.
The plan will address a recent increase in violent crimes in the area around 9th Street North and Grove. It outlines steps the police department will be taking to combat a trend toward drive-by shootings and other incidents in this area.
The town hall will be attended by police department representatives and members of the WPD Juvenile Intervention Unit, along with officials from the Wichita Housing Department and community leaders.
The event will be live-streamed on the WPD Facebook page and it is open to the public.
