The Star Spangled Salute honors Veterans David Williams and Heather Allen, and the Green Horse they travel the country with.  The horse is a painting, it’s green in honor of Green Star families – those affected by suicide.  These days, an average of 17 Veterans take their own lives and, David and Heather and their Green Horse Project hopes to change that.  They travel the country, a lot of times at their own expense, with this painting, part of a 1,000-foot “Guardians of the Herd” piece.  On the back are names of veterans lost to suicide, other veterans and their family members. David had planned to be a software engineer but when a traumatic brain injury prevented that, he found art and now he continues this project to spread the message of “You are not alone”.
