The Missouri State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating a train derailment that happened Wednesday evening at Silver Dollar City near Branson.
Three of the four cars on the Frisco Silver Dollar Line Steam Train went off the tracks around 6 p.m. Six visitors and one employee were injured. Five of the visitors and the employee have been released after treatment at a hospital.
The park issued a statement saying that 160 guests were on the train at the time of the derailment, and the train has a capacity of 250 passengers. Park officials expressed thanks to safety personnel and emergency responders who went to the scene. The park is providing support to the investigation and additional support is being provided to the people who were on the train at the time of the derailment.
