Hutchinson Police arrested a 23 year old man in an accidental shooting incident.
Around 2:40 a.m. on November 4th, officers were sent to a residence in the 500 Block of East Ave B in response to shooting call.
Police came in contact with a 30-year-old pregnant woman. She had suffered a gunshot wound to her side. She was transported to a Wichita area hospital where she was treated and later released.
During the investigation, authorities learned that the 23-year-old male suspect was investigating a noise near the front of his residence while armed with a gun. As he turned back into the interior of the residence, the gun was fired and the female resident was struck.
On November 8th, police learned that the baby no longer had a heartbeat and was pronounced deceased. On November 10th, the man was arrested for one count of Involuntary manslaughter. He is being held at the Reno County Correctional Facility with a bond of $10,000.
