Salina Area Technical College is opening a clinic on campus in January as part of its new Dental Hygiene program.
The students will work under the supervision of licensed dental hygienists and a dentist, to provide basic services such as teeth cleanings, whitening and sealants, to patients ages 4 and up. The program aims to give students hands-on skills while providing low-cost services to the public. An adult cleaning will cost between $20 to $40, depending on patient’s needs.
The clinic be open on Mondays from 12 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. during the school year, and is by appointment only.
Officials with the clinic are telling residents to budget roughly 3 & 1/2 hours for their appointments, as the students are still learning. Additional appointments may also be necessary to provide the highest standard of care.
