Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors Vietnam Veteran Iziu Percyz. In December of 2020, Iziu was hospitalized with Covid, in isolation, and it was his granddaughter Eliana who would call him a lot and sing to him. Iziu said it meant a lot to him. One of Eliana’s favorite songs is the National Anthem. She says it’s a song that brings people together. Jump ahead 2 years to this Sunday and a very proud Grandfather will get to hear Eliana sing in person when she sings the National Anthem at the Boston Celtics game. Iziu said, “I’ll cry. Since getting out of the hospital, I’ve been very emotional, if there is something better than great, that is what I’ll be.” Enjoy that special moment Iziu and THANK YOU for your service.
