An employee at a west Wichita care home was tied up during a robbery Wednesday morning.

Police were called to the 600 block of S. Maize Court around 4:50 in the morning. An employee reported three people dressed in black scrubs knocked on the door to the care home, then forced their way inside. Two of the robbers tied the employee up, then all of them stole various medications from the care home.

The suspects left on foot and got into a silver SUV or hatchback that was parked near Maize and Hayden. They were last seen headed south on Maize.

The suspects were described as a light-skinned black male, a white male, and a Hispanic woman. The female suspect was thought to be between 20 and 30-years-old. One of the suspects was armed with a handgun.

Police report the employee that was tied up was not hurt.

An investigation is ongoing and security photos may be provided at a later time.

The Wichita Police Department wants other care homes and facilities that carry medications to be aware of this case in hopes of preventing additional robberies.
