Police are investigating a shooting that injured a 17-year-old boy in east Wichita.
Officers were called to the 200 block of North Rock Road just before 6 Monday evening, but witnesses told them that someone with a leg injury left in a vehicle. Police learned of a walk-in victim at a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg. They found that the teenager had driven himself to the hospital. He told officers about the shooting and the investigation is continuing.
The teen was treated and released from the hospital. Police said the shooting happened during a robbery, but no other details have been released.
