Wichita City Council member Bryan Frye has announced he will be running for the mayor’s office this year.   Frye is in his second term representing the 5th council district in northwest Wichita.   He is one of several candidates to announce their intentions to run.

Three candidates have officially filed for mayor in the 2023 elections.   They are information tech specialist Anthony Gallardo; Celeste Racette, the founder of the group Save Century II; and Julie Rose Stroud, an environmental health manager.

Incumbent Brandon Whipple said at his weekly news conference Thursday that he plans to run for re-election, saying he wants to continue the economic progress being made by the city.

June 1st is the filing deadline for candidates in all races for the 2023 election cycle. The primary election will be in August and the general election will be held in November.
