The five former Memphis Police officers charged in the beating death of Tyre Nichols pleaded not guilty in court on Friday.
They were all fired and charged with murder after the Black man’s death following a traffic stop in January. The former officers are out on bond and their next court appearance is scheduled for May 1st.
Meantime, the judge in the case is asking the community for patience, saying the men will get a fair trial. Nichols’ family was in court saying they want justice for Tyre.
