A 34-year-old Wichita man has been arrested for the child rape of a victim under the age of 14. The man was arrested Wednesday night after police were called to a home on a domestic violence report.
Officers went to the 600 block of West Patterson and talked with a 36-year-old woman who said she had been beaten and threatened during an argument. The investigation led to the discovery of possible sex crimes that occurred between the suspect and a young girl.
Detectives with the Exploited and Missing Child Unit were called to the home. The man was booked into the Sedgwick County jail on three counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child, one count of rape of a victim under 14, and counts of aggravated assault, battery and domestic battery.
