A Wichita police officer was arrested in connection to a child abuse investigation in Oklahoma.
The WPD says the off-duty officer was booked for sexual abuse of a child under 12. The arrest is tied to an investigation in Garfield County, Oklahoma. The Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation is in charge of the case.
According to a statement from the WPD, the officer is on administrative leave until criminal and internal investigations are complete.
The officer involved has worked with the department for seven years, in the field services division.
