An Arizona man has been charged in connection with a fatal traffic accident that killed a Sedgwick County sheriff’s deputy last fall.
Prosecutors said 29-year-old Kelvin Burgett of Prescott Valley, Arizona failed to yield at a stop sign at 29th Street North and 135th Street West, and he hit a patrol car driven by 22-year-old deputy Sidnee Carter. She was responding to a call when the crash occurred on the night of October 7th, 2022.
Burgett is charged with involuntary manslaughter and driving while suspended. His bond was set at $100,000.
