One person died in an apartment fire in southeast Wichita this morning.
Crews were called to a complex just east of Harry and Rock, around 4 a.m., and found fire inside a unit. Crews found a 65-year-old woman in a chair inside the apartment. She was pronounced dead after life-saving efforts failed. Her name has not been released. The fire was brought under control a little before 5 a.m., with no other injuries reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
