A new Admiral Windwagon Smith has been chosen for the 2023 edition of Wichita Riverfest.
Kaye Monk-Morgan was piped aboard the Windwagon during a ceremony on Wednesday, and she will be the 49th Admiral.
Monk-Morgan is the president and CEO of the Kansas Leadership Center and has served on the boards of a number of non-profit and corporate agencies. As the Admiral, she will be the official ambassador for Riverfest, visiting children in local hospitals, speaking to civic organizations and hosting a number of events.
Riverfest will take place June 2nd through the 10th in downtown Wichita.
