Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors Army Veteran Airborne Ranger Lemmuel Thomas. Imagine your commute taking as long as a normal work day for some. For Lemmuel, he would commute four hours each way, each day to keep his full time job. However, without a car, he would take public transportation or expensive ride shares. A couple weeks ago, his daily commute changed, because he was handed the keys to a newly refurbished ride, thanks to the generosity of a local collision center and GEICO. The act of kindness is part of the National Auto Body Council Recycled Rides program that provides reliable transportation to those in need. Thanks to his new wheels, Lemmuel will save at least 6 hours a day, once spent commuting. Lemmuel said, “From the bottom of my heart, I really appreciate it. My day just got a little more fuller. Now, I can move around. I can just have some time for myself and my kids, which I was losing every day.” Enjoy all that extra time Lemmuel and THANK YOU for your service.
