Arrests Made After Attempted Dollar General Burglary

Wichita Police arrested 21-year-old man and an 18-year-old man in connection to a burglary investigation.

Officers were sent to an alarm call at the Dollar General at 1475 W. 31st St. S. around 4 a.m. early Wednesday morning. Once they arrived, they witnessed two men running from
the business, leading to a foot pursuit.

The 18-year-old suspect was quickly taken into custody at 30th and Martinson. Additional officers arrived on the scene and set up a perimeter to contain the 21-year-old man, who was hiding in the perimeter. During that time, he reportedly called for a ride-share app to pick him up. Officers noticed the suspect get into the ride-share vehicle in the 3100 block of S. Fern. Police then stopped the vehicle, and the man was taken into custody without incident.

The case will be presented to the District Attorney’s Office.
