Corterra of Wichita has completed its new behavioral services hospital for geriatric patients and older adults.
The $10 million facility is located at 7447 W. Village Circle in the North Ridge Pointe development at K-96 and Ridge Rd. Designed for the stabilization and treatment of older adults who are experiencing a mental health crisis, Corterra of Wichita will serve as a resource for area hospitals, continuing care retirement communities, skilled nursing and assisted living facilities, and area residents.
The 21,000-square-foot hospital includes 24 private rooms, a secured courtyard, plus therapy, dining, observation, and exam rooms. It is expected to care for approximately 400 – 500 older adults annually and attract patients from across Kansas. The hospital expects to accept its first patient in June, and is working with the Kansas Department of Aging and Disability Services (KDADS) and the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) to secure final licensure and certification.
At capacity, Corterra will have around 40 employees, including highly trained registered nurses, mental health technicians, an activity therapist and a master’s-level social worker.
