Monday is the Juneteenth federal holiday to observe the end of slavery in the United States. A number of government offices and banks will be closed for the holiday.
Wichita and Sedgwick County offices will be closed on Monday. Federal buildings will be closed and there will be no mail delivery.
For the City of Wichita, City Hall, the neighborhood resource centers, Wichita Public Library locations, Botanica, CityArts and the Mid-America All-Indian Museum will be closed. In addition, the park administrative offices and recreation centers will be closed, along with the Wichita Art Museum, Cowtown, Botanica, the Great Plains Nature Center, the Environmental Health office and the WATER Center.
There will be no Wichita Transit or Paratransit service on Monday.
Some facilities will be open for regular hours on Monday, and they are the Ralph Wulz Riverside Tennis Center, the Kansas Wildlife Exhibit, O.J. Watson Park, the city swimming pools and the public golf courses. The Animal Shelter and the Brooks Landfill will also be open regular hours.
