A missing Wichita man has been identified as the victim of a traffic accident in Oklahoma.
A statewide Silver Alert was issued on July 1st for 74-year-old George C. Smith. He was last seen June 30th driving a pickup in the 7700 block of East Kellogg and it was believed that he was going south on I-35 toward Oklahoma. Police said he was diabetic and had missed a dialysis appointment.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation said Smith was identified by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol after a fatal crash on July 5th. It took some time for officials to identify him.
