Police said two teenagers were shot during a road rage incident in southwest Wichita late Friday night.

Officers were sent to the 700 block of West Maywood around 11:40 p.m.   That’s a neighborhood near 55th Street South and Seneca.  Officers found two teenagers in a parked vehicle.  A 19-year-old man had a gunshot wound to his leg and a 17-year-old boy had an injury to his upper torso.  They were taken to a hospital and they were in critical but stable condition.

Investigators found that the shooting was the result of a road rage confrontation near I-235 and Meridian.  A witness saw the teenagers in a dispute with someone in a black sedan, and several shots were fired from that vehicle into the car the teens were in.

Anyone with information is urged to contact detectives at 268-4407, Crime Stoppers at 267-2111 or the See Something Say Something hotline at 519-2282.
