Today, JJ’s Star Spangled Salute honors Marine Corps Veteran Jose Armenta. Jose Armenta served as a canine handler alongside a dog named Zenit. In 2011, while serving in Afghanistan, he stepped on a pressure plate full of homemade explosives during a security patrol. Five days later he woke up in Germany to realize both his legs from just above the knees were gone. Today, Jose is being repaid for his service thanks to the Gary Sinise Foundation that has gifted Jose and his family a mortgage-free home. The construction is currently underway and the family of five couldn’t be more excited and thankful. Enjoy your new home Jose and THANK YOU for your service.
