I love everything about his story. The reason, the hard work, the ‘deal’ between Mom and daughter. Here is the FB message I got over the weekend.
hi JJ!
My sister and I listen to you each morning, and Karissa has a habit of calling in the morning before school from the bus lol
I am a 8th grader at El Dorado middle school and have been working each summer to make sure I can make it to my 8th grade trip to DC with my history class, I LOVE HISTORY and i cant wait to visit the tomb of the un named soldier in person. when I am not working mowing lawns, baby sitting, and sometimes I have even baby sat goats! I make hand made earrings out of recycled jewlery donated to me, i like to make sure i follow my girl scout values of recycle re-use. I sell these at farmers markets and more by donation to raise money for my trip.my sister Karissa helps make baked goods and making key chains.
My mom and I have an agreement that during the summer I make the money for payments and during the school year she does so that I can focus on school work and my cross country and track but I want to be able to pay as much off as possible so it’s less stress for her and I want to be able to say I earned it. I know it’s not something big Karissa ans I were wondering if you can help get the word out for us that we will have 3 more sales before school starts we also have a fb group.
All our materials have been donated so all items for sale are by donation. We ask no prices as did not pay for materials.
I am not asking for a donation just a friendly word for us. thank you for always being amazing for our community.
I first met Karissa when she and her family stopped by Davis Moore Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat during a donate life event.
You can donate electronically
And then 2 dates at the El Dorado Farmers Market – This Sunday August 6 and Sunday August 12th – both days starting at 10am.
