Kellogg was reopened to traffic in east Wichita after being closed in both directions for about five hours Tuesday. Police ordered the closing because of a suspicious device that was found outside the Trust Women clinic at Kellogg and Bleckley. Orme was also blocked between Oliver and Edgemoor.
The device was found around 7 a.m. and police ordered area streets closed as a precaution. The bomb squad was called to the scene and a robot was used to examine the device. Police later said nothing explosive was found inside.
People in the area were asked to evacuate or shelter in place while the device was being examined.
