The Wichita Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred at an area business early Saturday morning.
Officers responded to an armed robbery at the Kwik Shop in the 6300 block of E. 13th St N. around 4:40 a.m. An employee stepped outside to call 911 after noticing two people wearing ski masks walk in into the business’s restroom. The suspects then forced the employee back inside at gunpoint to open the registers.
The suspects were described as males in their late teens to early thirties and their race couldn’t be determined. The thieves stole approximately $200 cash from the registers and fled towards 12th Street.
The WPD is encouraging businesses to be safe and use measures like silent alarms or calling 911 if confronted.
