Today, JJ’s Star Spangled Salute honors Yukon, Oklahoma Veteran Chance Leake who just launched a new non-profit called Recoil Outdoor. His goal is to help veterans with life after service through recreational outdoor therapy, which Chance said helped him immensely when he returned home from serving in the army just a few years ago. Research shows that the burden of mental disorders and symptoms including PTSD, substance abuse disorders, and depression is high among service members within the first year of returning from deployments – and Chance wanted to do something.
