The Kansas Department of Transportation is conducting a field survey to gather information for proposed improvements along Kansas Highway 254 in northeast Wichita.
Survey crews will be working along K-254 from Woodlawn to 127th Street East, and they also plan to conduct a survey north and south of the highway on Rock Road, Webb Road, and Greenwich Road.
A member of the survey crew will contact property owners or tenants for permission to enter private property. The activities will include the use of survey instruments on the ground to determine the locations of existing features within the K-254 corridor. The survey is expected to be completed by February 1st.
KDOT has been working on a plan for transportation improvements along K-254 between Wichita and El Dorado. State officials have been working with Sedgwick County and Butler County as well as the cities of Wichita, Bel Aire, Kechi, Park City, Benton, Towanda and El Dorado.
