Today, JJ’s Star Spangled Salute honors World War II Veteran Susan “Susie” Rossetti. At 24 Susie left her home and her job as a seamstress and joined the Army. She said everyone had left and she wanted to do her part. She was assigned to be a mimeograph operator, something she knew nothing about, but she considered it an exciting challenge. After the war she went back to the New York town she was born and raised in and she still lives there today. Last month Susie turned 105 and she said the secret to a fulfilling life is family, faith and to “try everything.” Thank you for sharing your story of your life well lived and THANK YOU for your service.
