Today, JJ’s Star Spangled Salute honor World War II Veteran Fred Jackson and the two high school students who helped keep his history alive. World War II Veteran Fred Jackson, was the first elected African American constable of Lexington, Kentucy.  He has long since passed, but his family now has a special gift thank to two teenagers.  High School juniors Megan and Hattie found his dog tags while cleaning up a local partk last month. With the help of their history teacher they were able to track down Fred’s family and give them this gift to help honor Fred’s memory. Thank you Megan and Hattie for helping preserve history and THANK YOU Fred, for your service.
