A McPherson resident achieved third place in a Special Olympics event in New Jersey.
Caleb DeMaio represented Special Olympics Kansas in the 2023 Special Olympics North America Golf Championship, which took place at the Seaview Golf Club in Galloway, New Jersey. The event was held from October 2nd through the 5th.
Nearly 200 athletes from 19 Special Olympics programs in the U.S. and Canada took part in the tournament. DeMaio placed third in the highest level, level 5, and brought home a bronze medal.
