Newton officials said a woman was arrested for attempted second degree murder after a domestic disturbance at a home.
Police were called around 10 p.m. Friday to a report of a domestic disturbance at a home in the 300 block of East 2nd in Newton. They found that a man and woman got into a fight, then the woman tried to run over the man with a car. Police said the man also had head injuries from being struck with an unknown object.
The 31-year-old woman left the scene, but police found her at another location and arrested her for attempted second degree murder, domestic battery, criminal damage and drug-related charges. Police said they are continuing their investigation.
