Less than 2 weeks before Thanksgiving, our Christmas decorations are up and it’s I start bell ringing on Saturday.
Kind of keeping it simple this week, with meat and potatoes – BUT – there is a fall dish I want to do a test run on and maybe have it for a side on the Thanksgiving table. Butternut squash, brussel sprouts, farro…..nice and hearty. Here are the recipes.
SUNDAY
Everyone has their own go to meatloaf recipe. This one is from Miranda Lambert’s new cookbook. What I like about this recipe is it’s a 2 to 1 blend of hamburger and ground pork. Instead of breadcrumbs, it’s saltines (12 to be exact). Then a ketchup/brown sugar glaze and a pan gravy made with some of the juices. For a side, you can do mashed potatoes or in our case, we’re heating up some Omaha Steaks Broccoli Au Gratin.
MONDAY
A night off from cooking tonight because as soon as Amy gets home from work, it’s off to the gym then I’m off to church for a meeting. So, gonna pick something up on the go
TUESDAY
Left over meatloaf. What is your favorite way to have it. Me, it used to be sandwiches with ketchup on the bread. That was until I made quesadillas with it. Saute some onions and mushrooms, toss in a little cheese….it’s a game changer.
WEDNESDAY
Strip Steak. N.Y. or K.C. …it’s the same steak, just two different cities trying to take ownership of it. Cook that up with some butter and time to a medium rare and thanks to my neighbor John, air fried green tomatoes.
THURSDAY
This is the new dish that we’re trying ahead of Thanksgiving.
FRIDAY
Sometimes, nothing better the Pizza Night. Your favorite pizza order and something on tv.
SATURDAY
First night of bell ringing. I’ll be at the Wal-Mart on E. Kellogg and Greenwich (West Door) from 3p-7p, so probably gonna pick something up after.
What’s hitting your table this week?
