The City of Augusta has received a $50,000 grant that will help with the rebuilding of a local playground.
The donation was recently announced by T-Mobile under its Hometown Grant program.
The Castle Park Playground had to be demolished in 2022 because of its deteriorating condition, and the city is working to rebuild it in 2024 with sustainable materials. The playground will cover over 11,000 square feet. Kansas House member Kristey Williams is a co-coordinator of the project. She said in a press release that the park has been deeply missed and the project will bring it back to life to be “bigger, better and even more accessible to children and families.”
